Halloween is just around the corner, so I am urgently looking for some inspiration as to what my two year old daughter should wear this year. I steer away from scary Halloween costumes at this age and instead look for something cute and sweet that she can be excited about! After scouring the internet, here are the best Halloween costumes for toddler girls that I could find.
Pumpkin Halloween Costume
This is the ideal choice for younger toddler girls that aren’t potty-trained yet. My daughter wore this one last year! There are convenient snaps at the bottom of the costume that make it easy to change your toddler’s diaper or pull up. It is super soft and will keep your toddler warm all night long. I would pair this Halloween costume with a black long sleeve t-shirt and black leggings!
Doctor Scrubs Halloween Costume
Does your toddler love to play doctor as much as mine does? Then, this would be a great Halloween costume for them! The best part is, you can personalize it to say anything you want. You could also add a play stethoscope to make the costume look more realistic! It is probably best suited for those of you who live in warmer climates, though, as it is short-sleeved.
Cat Halloween Costume
Cat lovers, this one is for you! This costume will cover every inch of your toddler, making it perfect for those chilly Halloween nights. It has snaps that make changing diapers a breeze and a visor that helps protect your little one’s face from the wind. It is made from a soft, breathable material that should accommodate even the pickiest of toddlers. Check this costume out today!
Elsa Princess Dress Costume
If you have an older toddler who loves the movie Frozen or is excited for Frozen 2, then this Elsa princess dress may be just what you are looking for! It comes with all of the accessories a princess needs; a tiara and a wand! With all the hype around this Disney movie and character, there’s a good chance your toddler girl will want to wear this over and over again for dress up, which means you are going to get your money’s worth! If you need the costume to be warmer, add a white cardigan to it!
Little Red Riding Hood Costume
If your toddler loves the classic fairy tales, then they are going to love this little red riding hood costume. It comes with a dress, an apron, a hooded cape, a headband and a trick or treat bag. It is made mostly of spandex, making it easy to get on and off. One thing to note about this costume, though, is that it is hand washable only. Throwing it into the washer may ruin it, so be careful.
Tips for Buying Halloween Costumes
#1- Don’t be afraid to check out your nearest thrift store to see what they have to offer for Halloween costumes. Since many costumes are only worn once or twice, they will often be in a good condition. Plus, you will be able to purchase them for only a fraction of the cost.
#2- Stock up on Halloween costumes AFTER Halloween. Most stores mark their Halloween costumes down by at least 50%, sometimes even more. You can either buy next year’s costume or stock up on dress up clothes for your little ones.
#3- Don’t feel pressed to spend a lot of money on your child’s Halloween costume. Remember; Halloween only lasts one night! There’s no need to go overboard.
