Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect on the blessings God has given you and your family over the past year. I love asking my kids what they are thankful for and hearing what they come up with. Normally, they are thankful for a toy or a baby doll, but occasionally they think a little deeper and surprise me.
I have noticed when I am vocal regularly of the blessings in our lives and the things I am thankful for my kids also begin to notice their blessings more. This can look as simple as me saying, “God thank you for the beautiful sunset tonight.”
A shortlist of things I am thankful for this year:
- The wonderful addition of Grace to our family. It is amazing to see her smile, learn to crawl, and everyone kissing and hugging her.
- The love and support of my husband and best friend.
- Staying home with my kids every day and learning together.
- My God and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the unending blessing of him reaching down from heaven to rescue me from my sin.
