Praying for Your Kids: 31 Prayers????

September 22, 2019

As parents, one of the most important things we can do for our kids is to pray for them. We can love them, shower them with praise, encouragement, correction, discipline, life lessons etc. but if we are not surrendering them to prayer and bringing our needs and their needs to God first then we are failing them as moms. Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Prayer is one of the best things we can do for our children.

I recently discovered this free resource at the church I am attending (put out by parent magazine) and wanted to share it with you. Prayer is not something, I admit, I am good at or do on a regular basis, but something I want to be doing for my kids. There is no greater joy than to know that God has my kids in His hands and He is watching over them. He has a plan for their lives and I just get to be a small part of those plans. Surrendering our kids to the one who made them and realizing that He is in control is so comforting as a parent. I always want to be in control and protect my kids, love them, give them the best but through many different situations in my life, I have come to realize that I can… NOT… make… my… kids… do… anything. The very fact their little hearts beat, they take in oxygen, eat, sleep, play ect is all due to the grace of God. Their lives are so precious to me and I truly want to talk with God about all their needs and be a source of wisdom and encouragement for my kids throughout their lives.

So I challenge you to download this prayer sheet and commit to spending the next 31 days in prayer for your children. Each day the prayer calendar has a topic, small prayer and bible verse for you to look at. Spending even 2 minutes a day to read through this and pray for your children will change your perspective, give you joy and peace in knowing God has them and offer you a closer connection to your Savior.

Prayer Calendar

Don’t worry if you miss a day or forget to pray about a certain topic just do your best and tell God how you feel, what’s been going on with your children. Pour your heart out to Him, know that He is listening and cares for you in ways you can’t even imagine.

Have a great month praying for your kids! ????
