Survival Tip of the Week: Flying With Kids

February 17, 2020

In a little over a week, we will be taking a 5-hour flight with our two and a half year old. We are no longer rookies in this department; this will be our 8th flight with her! Here are three things we do to keep our toddler entertained on long flights.

  1. Lots of Snacks- We pack her staple snacks like goldfish, mandarin oranges, and animal crackers, along with some treats we only get to enjoy on special occasions.
  2. Dollar Tree Toys- A day or two before we travel, we take our daughter to the Dollar Tree and have her pick out a few items to play with on the plane. We usually buy things like play-doh, stickers, window clings, coloring books, etc.
  3. Electronics- While we do limit screen time in general, we don’t when we are on a plane. We make sure her tablet and DVD player are all charged up and ready to go! We have a few educational games on her tablet that don’t require WiFi and we bring along her favorite DVD.

We wish you the best of luck on your next traveling adventure with your kiddos!

Until next time,

Your Surviving Moms
